Five Ducks
by Roger W Hancock
Over the Hill to the water still,
ducks so proud in feathered tux.
Shine those bills and wag those tails,
five ducks begin this tale.
One duck went to the water still
much too frail, to wet his tail.
Second duck also had no will,
not first to fail, waiting by this rail.
Third duck sits by the water mill,
I’ll hail the first to wet their tail.
Fourth duck sits by the water’s dill,
turning pale, with a moaning wail.
Fifth duck the only one who will,
make a trail and be first to sail.
waddle, waddle into the chill,
hale and hearty, sets the scale.
Fifth duck with skill leads like a shill,
Five ducks now are out of flux,
Shine those bills and wag those tails,
Fifth duck had closed the sale.
