The Gulf War cost $61 billion of which
88%, $54 billion, was reimbursed by the Allied
Coalition. The resulting cost to the American taxpayer
was $7 billion. The Gulf War being the least
expensive of all American wars resulted in a cost of
only $26.92 per American citizen. |

**Australian
Services:
Clearance Diving Team 3.
Aboard the HMAS Success served the Australian
Army-Air Defense Detachment.
Australian Linguist served aboard the various ships
during Desert Storm.
An Australian Army Medical Team served on the USS
Comfort a U.S. Navy Hospital Ship.
Among the British Army 9 Australian Army personnel
served during Desert Storm.
Having a low profile the Royal Australian Air Force
played a main support role for the Navy.
Other Australian personnel served on the USS Comfort
with the medical teams and other ships.
The four ships provided were the HMAS SYDNEY FFG03
Guided Missile Frigate; the HMAS BRISBANE DDG 41
Guided Missle Destroyer; the HMAS SUCCESS OR 304
Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment; and the HMAS
WESTRALIA Ao-195 Underway Replenishment Ship. |
