Thanksgiving Day
National day of thankfulness,
freedom to worship our God.
Blessings ours, whatever our lot;
friends, family in thankfulness.

Thanks Always
by Roger W Hancock
Thanks we give for many things,
For health, prosperity, and love,
Loved ones; family and friends.
Blessings; food and home,
Even for our excess wealth,
Thanks to God for all the gifts.
Think of Job of way back then,
Wealth, health, and family;
For much he gave, our thanks.
Staying thankful to our Lord,
When all was stripped away;
Wealth, health and family
“Naked came I, Naked I’ll go.”
“God Giveth, God taketh,”
“Blessed is His name.”
When all is lost, naked stand,
Will we praise and place our trust,
On Him who gives us life!

Thanksgiving Remembrance
by Roger W Hancock
Life lived in obliqueness of apathy,
Oblivious of the blessing surrounding us all.
Blessings of living just open our eyes.
The sky, trees, flowers, our feet on solid
ground,
In poverty riches abound for those who see his
sound.
Listen, look in peaceful quiet,
The Prince, the King, the Son who died.
Food on the table envy to others,
Give thanks to the author of all.
Remember the lean times, remember the good times,
In all things give thanks for all that you have.
There’s always another who’s lot is less
fortunate,
You could be in his place, give thanks for yours.
Life a fleeting memory of one plucked rose,
Your life pressed between time’s pages.
Gratitude is due to the One, who supplies,
Love that fills our bodies, our minds.
Where you are is not your own doing,
The hand on nature is the hand on you.
Remember the blessing remember the past,
The One who maintains that your future lasts.
Each day be one of thanks for all,
This day, the feast, family and friends.
For all and for this, I am thankful to God.

Thanksgiving
by Roger W Hancock
At Plymouth Rock the
pilgrims land.
The first winter tough,
over half had died.
New found friends of the
Indians made,
the Wampanoags generosity
provided aid.
Seeds were sown, harvest
reaped by hand,
the tribe teaching ways to
work the land.
Fish to richen earth, for
the corn to grow,
cooperation proof for a
great land to show.
Invite of the tribe to
show them care,
who came with their own
food to share.
Living together that first
experiment,
shows it possible, gave
encouragement.
Thanksgiving for the
harvest filled,
thankfulness to God who
multiplies.
Their gratitude for having
survived,
thanks for friends and
God’s supplies.
Holiday tradition now in
America,
turkey, dressings, and all
the trimmings.
Family, friends,
employment all,
we give our thanks to God
for life.

Thanksgiving
by Roger W Hancock
Thanking God
for Covering,
house to live in, sin forgiven.
Thanking God for providing,
food to share, clothes to wear.
Thanking God for everything.
