Colonial Indian Wars were a series of wars from 1609 to 1775,
against native North American tribes as various European powers
claim more of the new world.

Wars began in 1689. England and France, each with Indian allies,
repeatedly fought over control of North America. The 1763 Treaty
of Paris is signed ending the war.

begins in 1775. Second Continental Congresses convenes in
Philadelphia.
John Hancock is selected President. The members resolve to
answer force with force. The
Revolutionary War ends in 1782.

The Indian
Wars were a series of wars from 1776 to 1890 against the native
tribes as the United States expands west.

begins. The War of 1812

Texas |
The siege of the Alamo began in
San Antonio on February 23rd 1836.

Feb. 22, 1847 - Mexican-American War begins on
February 22nd, 1847. U.S. troops under Gen. Zachary Taylor
defeated Mexican General Santa Anna The Battle of Buena Vista.
The 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo concludes the
Mexican-American War

Civil |
The War Between the
States begins. In 1861, delegates from six southern states met
in Montgomery, Ala., to form the Confederate States of America.
The Civil War ends when General-in-Chief of all the Confederate
armies, Robert E. Lee surrenders on
April 9 1865.

1898, the U.S. battleship Maine mysteriously blew
up in Havana Harbor, sparking war with Spain. The Spanish
American War ends when a treaty between the U.S. and Spain was
ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1899.

The Philippine-American War begins in 1899 and
ends in 1902.

The U.S. intervenes in the Panama Revolution.

World War I Begins
when Germany invades Belgium. America enters the war in 1917,
one year before it ends in 1918.

WW II |
Germany invades Poland beginning World War II
in 1939. Pear Harbor is attacked by the
Japanese, prompting the entry of America into World War II.
Germany unconditionally surrenders on May 7th, 1945. World War II
ends on September 2nd in 1945 with the official Surrender of
Japan.

The ongoing diplomatic tensions
between the U.S. and the USSR begins to be called the "Cold
War" in 1948.

Korea |
The Korean War
begins in 1950 and ends in 1953.

Vietnam |
Vietnam War begins
on December 11th in 1961 as the first American helicopters
arrive in Saigon. The Vietnam War Ends on April 30th, 1975 when
South Vietnam surrenders unconditionally.

Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein's forces invade Kuwait in 1990. Coalition forces
begin the liberation of Kuwait in 1991.

The War on Terror begins in 2001.
The World Trade Center and the Pentagon were attacked by
terrorists who hijacked airliners and flew them into the
buildings, over 3000 Americans were killed.
Terrorism has been a world plague throughout the 20th Century.
